Famous Bears in media (the Care Bears)
In 1981, the American Greetings Company created the adorable Care Bears, which were intended to be used in the production of greeting cards. The American artist, Elena Kucharik, who is also the maker of the entire line of Care Bears, created the first artwork design of the Care Bears. In 1983, the Kenner Products Company transformed the Care Bears images in to a series of plush teddy bears that immediately became very popular with children across the country. Soon, a cartoon series was made for the Care Bears that aired from 1985 until 1988. They also had a three major feature films, ‘The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland,’ ‘The Care Bears Movie,’ and ‘The Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation.’
Each of the Care Bears possesses a unique colour and owns a particular symbol found on their belly, which represents its personality and duty. In their movie, ‘Oopsy Does It!’ in 2007, these symbols are referred to as “belly badges.” The Care Bears can shoot powerful magical beams that can resolve numerous problems. For instance, Cheer Bear has a nature of being incessantly jolly, and with his beam of cheerful energy, he can make other people happy, while Bedtime Bear has a power to send special sleepy time care.
Presently, the Care Bears have remained popular and well liked by kids around the world. They have a variety of merchandise and different entertainment products that are available in the market. Care Bears can also be seen in books, cartoons, video games, and even in greeting cards in different countries worldwide.
