Ribbed Wrap Knitting Pattern

Combinations of knitting stitches or knitting stitch patterns are a magnificent way to enhance your knitting skills. All knitting uses stitch patterns. There are plenty of ways to blend purls and knits to create different designs, which have been used since people first started to knit.

There are several basic shapes for shawls and wraps, but the one that most people use in starting out is a plain old rectangle. Although its shape is basic and simple, it doesn’t mean that it is a boring one. This type of ribbed wrap can be made as a fun garment, with colourful yarn, an easy stitch pattern, and lots of stretch. Because of its cotton blend, it is adequately versatile to be used for both fancy and casual occasions. Moreover, the ribbon passing through it makes it more exciting to make and to wear.

Materials to be used:

Yarn needle
10 skeins or hanks Knit Picks Twist (I used colour Beach Ball), or around 1,000 yards medium weight cotton/acrylic combined of your choice

One pair size 7 U.S. knitting needles

Scissors

Gauge:

Twenty four (24) stitches and twenty (20) rows per 4 inches (or 6 stitches and 5 rows per inch) in ribbing. Gauge is not vital.

Size:

The width must be approximately twenty (20) inches and length should be sixty (60) inches. The material is very stretchable.

Procedure:

Run up about 120 stitches.
Knit in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing until the piece measures sixty (60) inches.
Tie up.
Cut the yarn and weave in the ends
